Gaining weight but not sure from fat or muscle

Hello,

I'm a 26, 5', female and work out 4-6 times a week. My workouts are crossfit style workouts where strength training and cardio combined at mostly anaerobic level for 20-40 minutes. I run about 4-10 miles a week. It has been 8 months since I started doing this type of workout and gained 10lbs. My clothes are tider, especially the jeans. I'm not sure if I'm gaining weights from fat or muscles. I'm a lot stronger than 8 months ago. I can clean 20lb more than I used to, or strongest I’ve ever been in my life. How quickly and how much muscle can a petite woman gain in 8 months?

Thanks.

The best answer to this question is to get a body fat measurement. Hopefully wherever you go they do a 7 site measurement. This way you will be able to tell where the increases in mm are. If they are increasing that means it's fat-mass, if they decrease that means u have lower level of fat mass and more lean body mass

I agree with Concho that the best options is that you should go and get the body fats measurements..If the measurements will show any gain in your body fats then you will come to know and if you lose some fats then it will be clear to you that you have gain weight in your muscles...

Reality is the leading cause of stress amongst those in touch with it.

I think, from my personal experience, it's probably muscles...

I've been doing Crossfit since last June, and definitely gained some weight. My clothes are much tighter on me, but I think that overall I look much better than I used to.

So shouldn't the question be how do you now look compared to 8 months ago?

Hi,,,
It is much better that you use the option of muscles over fat for gaining the weight.
Fat could cause many problems like Obesity, heart disease and leads you to many other health risks.

The greatest of faults, I should say, is to be conscious of none.
